Bumper: The story behind the first launches from the Cape

Program Description: On July 24, 1950, Bumper 8, a modified German V-2 rocket carrying the small WAC Corporal wartime rocket, launched from the new facility near the Cape Canaveral lighthouse. Learn about the background and results of this nearly forgotten but very challenging missile development program.

Program Description: Mrs. Bain was pressed into service at Cape Canaveral because of critical shortage of personnel needed to launch the Bumper 7 and 8 missiles.
