Production Room
(
Dimensions: 9' 2" x 25')

Image of production room prior to equipment.
The primary functions of the Web Production Room are to:
(1) take VHS or video formats and convert selected footage to web-ready formats; and, (2) support KSC Direct! live broadcasting.

This room has five computer stations - the first is dedicated to monitoring and processing question board submissions during live broadcasts; stations two and three are video/encoding editor stations; and the final two stations are for the copy writer and HTML developer.

Each computer station is linked into a facility-wide intercom system that allows for communication between all stations and each of the three studio work areas.

The small TV monitors seen in this photo (a total of ten) are used for viewing and capturing video from selected operational television feeds and NASA TV.

The window on the left side of the image is a viewing window into the main TV studio which we will visit next.

Each of the three rooms are also outfitted with official countdown clocks that are tied into and controlled by the primary time piece located in the launch control center.
