View of the earth that was transmitted back from space during the sixth
live  television transmission from the Apollo 8 spacecraft as it continued
its  journey home. At the time this picture was made, the Apollo 8
spacecraft was  about 97,000 nautical miles from earth, and was traveling
at a speed of 6,084  ft per second.
