  The Apollo 9 prime crew participates in water egress training in the Gulf
  of  Mexico. Being hoisted up to the U.S. Coast Guard helicopter in a new
  type of  rescue net (called a Billy Pugh net) is Astronaut David R. Scott,
  command  module pilot. Sitting in the life raft awaiting their turn for
  helicopter pickup are Astronauts Russell L. Schweickart (on left), lunar
  module pilot;  and James A. McDivitt, commander. A team of Manned
  Spacecraft Center (MSC)  swimmers assisted in the training exercise.
