Color infrared orbital view of the Mojave Desert in California. In the
middle  of the scene is really an ancient dry lake bed just to the east of
the San  Bernardino Valley and the city of Los Angeles.  Color infrared
imagery is  useful for locating vegetation, portrayed as shades of red. 
Generally, the   brighter the shade of red, the more lush and vigorous the
vegetation.
