  At Kennedy Space Center's (KSC's) Orbiter Processing Facility (OPF), 
  scientists examine the Long Duration Exposure Facility (LDEF) still stowed
  in  Columbia's, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 102's, payload bay (PLB).  LDEF, a 
  free-flying passive spacecraft that accomodated 57 scientific experiments, 
  was retrieved during the STS-32 mission.  The gravity gradient stabilized 
  platform was deployed in April, 1984.  View provided by KSC with alternate
