  first  Earth Gravity Assist.  Multispectral map of Australia was obtained
  by  Galileo's Near Infrared Mapping Spectrometer (NIMS) from about 50,000
  miles.   Photo provided by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) with the
  alternate  number P-37356.
