  STS-46 Atlantis, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 104, crewmembers, directing the 
  spray of two water hoses, approach a blaze in JSC's Fire Training Pit 
  located across from the Gilruth Center Bldg 207.  Manning the hose in the 
  foreground are Commander Loren J. Shriver (left) and Italian Payload 
  Specialist Franco Malerba.  Holding a second hose are European Space Agency 
  (ESA) Mission Specialist (MS) Claude Nicollier and MS Franklin R.
  Chang-Diaz  who is aiming nozzle at the fire.  Between the water hoses is a
  fire fighting  training instructor.  In the distance JSC's water tower and
  building  facilities can be seen.
