  STS-46 Atlantis, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 104, soars above Kennedy Space Center 
  (KSC) Launch Complex (LC) Pad 39 after liftoff at 9:56:47:976 am Eastern 
  Daylight Time (EDT).  OV-104, atop its external tank (ET) and flanked by
  two  solid rocket boosters (SRBs), has cleared the launch tower and is just 
  beginning its roll maneuver.  Silhouetted against the exhaust cloud
  covering  the launch pad area are the liquid hydrogen (LH2) storage tank
  and the sound  suppression water system elevated tank.  In the foreground
  are Florida  vegetation (flowers, grasses) and a waterway.
