  STS-47 Endeavour, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 105, lifts off from Kennedy Space 
  Center (KSC) Launch Complex (LC) 39 pad at 10:23:00:0680 am (Eastern
  Daylight  Time (EDT)).  OV-105, atop the external tank (ET) and flanked by
  two solid  rocket boosters (SRBs) rises above the launch pad as it begins
  its second  trip into space.  Exhaust billows from the SRB skirts and
  covers the launch  pad area.  The fixed service structure (FSS) and
  retracted rotating service  structure (RSS) are visible at the left.
