  Title: STS-47 Mission Specialist Apt uses SAREX II on OV-105's forward flight deck
  Description:
  STS-47 Mission Specialist Jerome Apt, wearing headset, communicates with 
  students during one of the many runs of the Shuttle Amateur Radio
  Experiment  II (SAREX-II).  Apt is seated at the pilots station on the
  forward flight  deck of the Earth-orbiting Endeavour, Orbiter Vehicle (OV)
  105.  SAREX-II  components visible in the view include the low-power
  handheld FM transceiver,  the headset assembly, and the antenna mounted in
  forward flight deck window  W6.  SAREX has flown on a number of previous
  flights.  Several of the  crewmembers were able to talk with students and
  other "ham" operators during  the mission.  A launch and entry suit (LES)
  parachute pack is strapped to  seat at Apt's back.
