Title: Himalayan Mountain Range, Taklimakan Desert, China
  Description:
Looking north from Kashmir India (27.5N, 76.5E) into the Tibetan Plateau
and beyond, the Taklimakan Desert of far western China appears to be
covered with an extensive layer of haze that blankets the entire region.
Reaching even into the western Siberian Plains of the CIS. This rugged
land is one of the world's richest treasure troves of mineral wealth but
the accessability into this remote area is so difficult that it is not yet
  economically feasible.
